About me
I first picked up some drumsticks and started rattling through my grades at age seven. I haven't stopped drumming and tapping since (much to the annoyance of those around me!). I joined my first band at age thirteen- 'Pipistrelle,' and we proceeded to rip through the back catalogues of Nirvana and Green Day for the next couple of years. I haven't not been in a band since, and I tend to define the periods of my life by the band I was in at the time rather than the year or the decade...

After completing my grades and A levels I headed off first to Drumtech in London (which is now part of BIMM) and Thames Valley University to study a diploma and Certificate of Higher Education (specifically in drumming!). My time in London completely changed the music I was listening to as well as my playing technique and was very important in my musical development.

From there I went on to study my degree at The Academy of Contemporary Music, achieving a first- something I am very proud of. During my time at Guildford I happened to start a band curiously named 'Badgers...Lots of Them,' a band that is still going ten years later, having performed as far afield as Tenerife and... Wales.. as well as for the High Sheriff of Surrey.

These days I write and perform my own 'jangle folk' music (a genre we invented) on the tenor guitar with my partner Polly under the name 'False Colours.' We perform at festivals, folk clubs and basically anywhere and have been played on BBC radio many times. We also perform as a full-on wedding and party band 'Jolly Polly and the Pirates' and are typically out performing in one capacity or another twice a weekend.

Aside from the drums and tenor guitar, I also play the accordion, bass guitar and sing a bit when required!
